Eating disorders aside. I am quite a happy and positive person. I have always been like that but I must admit that ED took that away from me. Who is to blame for that? I do not know, but sometimes I think that it was the society who took that away from me. I wish I lived during the 60’s or 70’s or the days were life was far simpler than today’s. Yes, I do enjoy the benefits of being more techy and convenient, but I believe that many of us rarely have time to stop and appreciate life for a second or two. Sometimes, I commit that sin and when I do so, I feel guilty for not enjoying my blessings.
Today, the human craves money, power and perfection (if that exists, anyway). In order to achieve unrealistic goals, man works 24/7, forgets his/her family, avoids social interaction, gets overburdened with deadlines, gets depressed and displeased which in turn leads oneself to forget the feeling of positivity. I am not insisting to quit your job, get on the sofa and watch TV all day long. I am encouraging you to take a small break, relax a bit and/or call a friend, go for a walk and most of all to feel happy, happy for all the good things you own.
Positive people are the most successful people on Earth. Being positive, does not mean that one does not experience bad moments or experiences. When things get tougher, positive people tend to keep fighting on no matter how bad the situation seems to be, thus they achieve good results. The way one challenges the obstacles, determines one’s end result. If you trip whilst walking to the grocery store, you have two options. You can either choose to cry because you have just ruined your favourite pair of shoes or you can choose to get up and continue running your errands as if nothing had happened. If you get up, you can get more things done because you would not have wasted time crying over spilt milk.
The sicker people are the most negative people. Negativity suppresses the immune system as it encourages a rise in cortisol levels. The hormone cortisol increases when the person is under stress. This stress hormone leads to weight gain, infections, adrenal fatigue, emotional disorders (anxiety, depression or paranoia), lower libido and muscle pains. So, positive people are healthier people!

When I feel like socialising, I seek to surround myself with positive people. In my down-time, I want to have a good laugh, make memories to cherish and feel comfortable. I learnt to eliminate negativity from my life. This does not mean that I do not listen to people who are going through tough moments, it means that I have instilled positivity in myself thus I am able and I also seek to transmit my positivity to others. I try to laugh more, worry less, go out and socialise more often, count my blessings whenever I feel like all hope is lost, count to three before I burst my anger in someone’s face and I became stronger. Yes, positivity made me emotionally stronger and ready to handle anything which life throws at me.
Life is too short to spend time crying in darkness. Bad days are inevitable but they should not destroy who you are. Life is more beautiful when one adopts a more positive attitude as with more positivity, more opportunities arise!
